About the project.
The Gelo smart wall is a conceptual product created for the thesis project "Shaking Hands with the Zeitgeist".
Gelo was developed through exploration within a variety of fields and was used as basis for experimenting with several ideas that arose throughout the process.
Using Consumer products as a medium to explore emerging technology.
The HASEL actuators used in the Gelo concept are based on existing soft robotic technology currently being produced by Artimus robotics and research done by the Keplinger Research Group.
By repackaging the HASEL technology with a consumer friendly design language, the technology becomes more attractive to a larger audience. When a new technology is understood by a variety of individuals and groups, it can be accessed and used in diverse ways to benefit others and improve society as a whole.
